But Dick, you said we would be greeted as liberators....

WASHINGTON, Aug. 15 — President Bush made clear in a private meeting this week that he was concerned about the lack of progress in Iraq and frustrated that the new Iraqi government — and the Iraqi people — had not shown greater public support for the American mission, participants in the meeting said Tuesday.

More generally, the participants said, the president expressed frustration that Iraqis had not come to appreciate the sacrifices the United States had made in Iraq, and was puzzled as to how a recent anti-American rally in support of Hezbollah in Baghdad could draw such a large crowd. “I do think he was frustrated about why 10,000 Shiites would go into the streets and demonstrate against the United States,” said another person who attended.

I guess since the people of Iraq...you know...the ones we went to liberate...are not with us, they must be against us, and therefore can only be described as terrorists! Can bulbs get any dimmer than this guy??????

Snorin Hatch sez Democrats are obviously the real danger to America

Earlier this week, we had this gem from Utah's senator, via the Salt Lake Tribune:

Hatch says Demo win could help terrorists
Orrin Hatch, who continuously decries the bitter partisanship in Washington, implied this week that Democratic success in November's election could result in terrorist attacks on America.

Hopefully, Americans are starting to wake up and will recognize this for the tripe that it is. In my opinion, having people like Snorin Hatch in positions of power is the real danger to all Americans.

Bush will NEVER leave Iraq

From Atrios.....

Bush equates leaving with losing and we will never start leaving Iraq as long as he has his way.Smarter people than me keep predicting troop withdrawals, but they continue to be wrong. It isn't going to happen.

Frankly, I could not agree more. With all those permanent bases we are building all over the countryside, there is no way Bush is going to vacate the premises during his administration. Remember, if we leave Iraq, the terrorists win!
