Democrats Fiddled As Bush Tortured

And the difference between these two parties is what again?????

Democratic complicity in Bush's torture regimen

The Washington Post reports today that the Bush administration, beginning in 2002, repeatedly briefed leading Congressional Democrats on the Senate and House Intelligence Committees -- including, at various times, Jay Rockefeller, Nancy Pelosi, and Jane Harman -- regarding the CIA's "enhanced interrogation methods," including details about waterboarding and other torture measures. With one exception (Harman, who vaguely claims to have sent a letter to the CIA), these lawmakers not only failed to object to these policies, but affirmatively supported them.

Maybe It Would Be Better If Texas Seceded??

The comments below the story are great, especially the one about taking a piece of brass or copper with you the next time you go to Texas to smite someone.

A Texas man killed his victim by shooting him and beating him with the barrel of a gun. During deliberations, the jury consulted the Bible and found this passage:
35:16 And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death. The murderer said his Constitutional rights were challenged, and took it to the Supreme Court, which turned away the challenge.
Does this mean that you can be executed for working on Sunday?
Exodus 35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.

Waterboarding Gone Wild

I like one of the comments after this horrendous story about whether they were hoping these guys would confess to withcraft. This is so sad that our country stooped to this level! If a person has not confessed after having this done 100 times, when exactly do you think they are going to confess???????

The CIA waterboarded two al-Qaida terror suspects a total of 266 times, according to a report that suggests the use of the torture technique was much more extensive than previously thought.
